Margaret Sparks was the daughter of Thomas Sparks and Catherine Jayne. She was born about 1834 in Johnson County, Kentucky. On 19 August 1851, she married Henry James Craft in Greenup County, Kentucky and the couple had two known children: William, Mahala and Henry. In September of 1859, Margaret's husband died of Typhoid Fever, as did two of her younger siblings. According to the 1860 Census, she was living with her family and two children in Boyd County, Kentucky as Margaret Sparks.

Between 1860-1867, she married two times, once to a Mr. Rouse based on her name on a marriage certificate to her third husband, John Blevins. Her third marriage took place on 31 October 1867. Based on this information, it is believed that her second husband was James Rous who died 5 June 1863 in Boyd County, Kentucky.

---------------------

*She had another son, my great grandfather, William M Craft born October 1852 and died October 30, 1938. Margaret Blevins gave her permission on his marriage certificate stating he was her son. I can send picture of that if needed. William M Craft married Mary Jane Jackson and then Serupta Moore. He lived with my great- grandparents and married my great grandma's aunt Serupta. My dad was raised by my great-grandparents. Contributed by Jennifer Sweinhagen (48838195)
