August 20, 1937 - February 14, 2017


Billy Dicus, age 79, passed away, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

Born August 20, 1937 in Clifton, Tennessee to the late Frank R. and Besse (Miller) Dicus.

On June 3, 1956 at Corinth, Mississippi he married Jerline Hunt who survives of the home in Sikeston.

In his life he had worked on the farm, a sawmill, factory work for Siegel-Robert Plating Co. and Plastene Supply Co. until his retirement in 1997. He gave his life to Jesus in 1997 and was baptized. Billy loved playing guitar and singing with family and friends. He also enjoyed talking on his C.B. radio--his handle was "Bootheel Redman". He loved his family and friends. He will be missed by all.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and four sons-in-law, Carolyn and David Payne of Puxico, Teresa and Brian Golden of Herrin, Ill., Brenda and Corey Hill of Bloomsdale, Mo. and James Russell Usher of Springfield, Mo.; one half sister, Valery Hill of Finley, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Derik Bland, Jennifer Golden, William Golden, Elizabeth Usher, Timothy Dooley II, Sarah Usher, Billy Dooley; two step grandchildren, Dustin Payne and Brandon Payne; five great grandchildren, Hayden Dooley, Ellie Golden, Hailey Bland, Derik Bland II and Chloe Bland; five step great grandchildren, Austin Payne, Samuel Payne, Lewis Payne, Reed Payne and Eli Payne.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Lynn Usher; two brothers, Gene Autry Dicus and Frankie R. Dicus; three sisters, Shirley Ann Cooper, Flora Mae Curtis and Margie Louise Henry; one half sister, Quita Joy Morgan; and one half brother, Junior Lee Morgan.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 5 to 8 at Ponder Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday The Rev. Earl Redden, Jr. will be officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Derik Bland, William Golden, Timothy Dooley II, Billy Dooley, Douglas Henry, and Frankie Henry.
