"The county court of Jackson county held its first meeting in Independence, July 2, 1827. The judges were: Henry Burris, presiding, and Abraham McClellan and Richard Fristoe.

From Roane Co TN, he arrived about 1819 with kin named Walker, Toomey, etc. His wife, Jane, was sister to Joel, Joseph, John and Samuel Walker, all among earliest settlers around Fort Osage, near which these McClellans lie in Sibley Cemetery. A. McClelland was State Treasurer during term of Gov. L W Boggs.

s/o Capt William L McClellan Sr and Barbara Walker.
With first wife, Juliana Tooney, children are William R McClellan 1810-1870 and Mary W McClellan 1812-1882.
With second wife Jane P Walker, children are Susan W McLellan 1820-1849, David Franklin McClellan 1820-1890, Barbara W McClelland 1820-1823, and Lucy W McClellan 1824-?He married JANE P. WALKER August 15, 1815
