Mrs. Charles A. (Aurel) Ashmun, long-time Huron resident, died early Saturday at Sacred Heart Hospital Yankton. She had been a resident of Nancy Nursing Home, Yankton, since April and prior to that resided at the Huron Nursing Home after she was no longer able to live at her home at 730 Beach Ave. S.E.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron with the Rev. Arthur Orth officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Ashmun, the former Aurel Bragg, was born Feb. 19, 1885, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Bragg at Elmwood, Neb. She was married to Charles A. Ashmun, June 12, 1907, and they moved to Huron in 1915. She was a member of the Congregational Church active in many areas, including 25 years as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member and past president of Chapter AN PEO, Literary Coterie, Chattersew and the Birthday Club.

Survivors include two sons, V. L. Ashmun, Manson, Wash., and R. A. Ashmun, Downey, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. David (Aurel) Stuelpnagel, Pierre; one sister, Jessie A. Bragg, Ashville, N.C.; one brother, James I. Bragg, Glendale, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death.

The family prefers memorials to the Congregational Church.

Funeral arrangements were announced by the Schenk Funeral Chapel, Yankton.
