Albert Braasch of Slayton passed way at the Cashell Nursing Home in Worthington, Minnesota on Sunday, April 26 at 5:45 a.m., at the age of 83 years and 10 months, after an illness of three months.
Mr. Braasch was born on June 26, in Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Braasch, and raised on a farm near Merriden, Iowa. On October 22, 1896, he married Martha Wichert at Norfolk, Nebraska. They farmed near Merriden, Iowa and Parker, South Dakota. He also worked as a mechanic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and in Paullina, Iowa before coming to Slayton, where they resided for the past 35 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church of Slayton.

Surviving are his wife, Martha, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 29, 1953, at the Trinity Lutheran church in Slayton at 2 p.m. Rev. Luther Hauser conducted the services. Internment was at the Slayton cemetery. Pall bearers were G.K. Lowe, Harry Peters, Frank Madison, Henry Ella, Frank Fay and John Clauson.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. Ida Wagner of Norfolk, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Braasch of Paullina, Iowa and Mrs. and Mrs. Henry Braasch of Peterson, Iowa.
