On July 28, 2012 Margarita V. Martinez, was reunited with the love of her life Gerardo M. Martinez.
She was born February 23, 1921 to Maria and Merced Vidal. Margarita will be greatly missed by her surviving family. She was the best mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother.
Margarita is preceded in death by her husband, Gerardo M. Martinez; her two sons, Luis Martinez and Gerardo Martinez, Jr., and one daughter, Delia M. De Leon.
She leaves behind her children; Amelia M. (Luis) Lerna, Gloria M. (Manuel) Ortiz, Sr., Dora M. (Ramiro) Jaime, Ruben (Rosa) Martinez, Rachel M. (Ambrosio) Ybarra, Irene M. (Crecencio) Rodriguez, Connie M. (Willie) Herrera, Olga M. Perez, Oscar (Rebecca) Martinez, all from Corpus Christi, Texas.
She left behind 39 grandchildren, 117 great grandchildren; 89 great great-grandchildren.
The family is greatful for the loving care provided to Margarita by the staff of Altus Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. that same evening.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
