W. D. Spearman Died at Reading, Kansas
William Dixon Spearman, who was born and reared in Miller County, died February 16th, 1937 at his home in Reading, Kansas. Mr. Spearman was born in Miller County March 8, 1872, the son of Edmon and Sarah Spearman, who died about 48 years ago. He was married to Jennie Williams in 1891 (who survives him.) and to this union 4 children were born—2 girls and 2 boys-Mrs. Harry Kalin and Mrs. Harry Ferguson, both of Cheyene, Wyoming. Glen of California and Wayne of the home. He also leaves 5 grand children and 5 sisters- Mrs. Etta Tinsley, of Picher, Oklahoma, Mrs. S. G. Adams, Pueblo, Colo.; Mrs. J. W. Steen and Mrs. R. L. Mitchell both of Reading, Kansas, and Mrs. Elmer Barton of Hooker, Mo. He owned and operated the farm on which he was born and reared in Miller County until 32 years ago when he moved to Colorado where he lived a short time. He then moved to Kansas where he bought a farm and operated it until about 8 years ago. He sold the farm and moved to Reading, Kas. where he lived at the time of his death. He had been in failing health the past year, but his sudden passing was a shock for he was only bedfast a few days. He died of heart trouble. He was buried in Reading Cemetery.
