William R. Palchak, 75, of Trafford, died Monday, March 8, 2004, in UPMC Shadyside. He was born March 18, 1928, in Trafford, a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Olenik Palchak.
He was a member of St. Regis Church, Trafford. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Trafford American Legion Post #331. He was a retired agent with the American General Life Insurance Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward; and three sisters, Margaret Miller, Betty Bernath and Josephine Subasic. He is survived by his wife, Helen Olinzock Palchak; a son, William R. Palchak Jr. and his wife, Theresa, of Gulfport, Miss.; a daughter, Barbara Ann Damits and her husband, Walter, of Crafton; a brother, Joseph Palchak, of Trafford; and two grandchildren, Lisa and Amanda Palchak.
Friends will be received at the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 602 7th St. (Route 130), Trafford, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Regis Church with Father James D. Tringhese as celebrant. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.
