Benjamin G. Ortega, 66, of Santa Fe, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 21, 2004.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Reymundo and Erinea Griego Ortega; nephews: Jimmy Lucero and Francisco "Pancho" Ortega.

Ben was born October 8, 1938 in Rowe. He retired from the New Mexico National Guard and loved fishing. Ben will always be remembered for his unlimited love and support of his children and grandchildren and his willingness to help those in need.

He is survived by his daughters: Joann Baca and companion Joe, Darlene Saiz and husband Randy, Yvonne Duran and husband Julian; sons: Benjamin Ortega Jr. and wife Carmella, Arthur Ortega and companion Kami and Daniel Ortega; long-time companion of 30 years, Lucille Jimenez; step-children: Beatrice Martinez and husband Roy, Dolores Jimenez, Cleo Herrera and husband Ernie, Darlene George and husband Anthony, Lillian Jimenez, Becky Vigil and husband Manuel, Mark Jimenez and wife Gloria, Michael Jimenez and wife Diane, Thomas Jimenez and companion Natalie; brothers: Tito Ortega and wife Josie, Fred Ortega and wife Tomasita, Silviano Ortega and wife Nellie, Lorenzo Ortega and wife Krista, Ricardo Ortega and wife Erica and Antonio Ortega; sisters: Feliz Garcia, Polly Lucero, Martann Lucero and husband Rudy, Sofia Spencer and husband Bill; 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
