Funeral services for Carroll E. Timmons, 91, will be held Thursday, January 26,
2017 at 10:00 AM at Central Baptist Church in Springhill, Louisiana under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. Phillip Casper, Kevin Gray and Sherrel Smith. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Carroll was born December 7, 1925 in Walkerville, Arkansas to the late Loyd and Maud Timmons and passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was retired from International Paper Company where he worked for many years as a sheet metal worker. He was a World War II veteran serving on the USS Massachusetts. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and, as a young boy, riding his Shetland pony named Dolly.

After retirement he and Helen enjoyed square dancing with the Town and Country Squares. They also traveled in their RV all over the United States and parts of Canada with the "Hobos" and Woodchoppers Good Sam Club. He was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church where he enjoyed his Sunday School Class, and visiting with his "McDonald buddies."

Carroll was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Dempsey and sister Ila Faye. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Helen; daughter Linda Bailey and husband Jimmy; son Wayne Timmons; granddaughters Carole Pittman and husband Paul, Cathy Hayden and husband Paul, Carly McKenzie and husband Jake, and Kristin Timmons; great grandchildren Alexis, Vaughn, Grant and Tyler McKenzie, Andrew Hayden, and Connor and Cole Pittman.

Serving as pallbearers are Carl Moore, Billy Sayers, Wayne McMahen, and grandsons; Paul Pittman, Paul Hayden and Jake McKenzie. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Curtis, Ronnie Dees, James Barnett, Bobby Tyndall, Robert Colley, and members of the Twin Oaks Deer Club.
Special thanks are extended to the staff at Schumpert Cancer Center, Willis Knighton Pierremont and Cornerstone Hospital.

ln lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Baptist Building Fund at 504 W. Church St Springhill, La, or the charitable organization of your choosing.
