Irwin Whitehead came to Claiborne Parish, Louisiana in about 1848 from Dale County, Alabama. About 1858 Irwin and family moved to Columbia County, Arkansas.

Nathaniel Nations, a veteran of the War of 1812 was in Hempstead County, Arkansas in the 1840'S.
