Well Known Woman Has Passed Away
ELLWOOD CITY - May 10 - Mrs. Amanda Christie, widow of John W. Christie died at the home of her daughter, where she had been making her home, last night, after a short illness.
Mrs. Christie had been a resident here for many years and was well known. The family came here from Butler county a number of years ago and for some time were residents of Burnstown. Her husband preceded her in death several years. She is survived by six sons and four daughter, Homer, Earl, John and Edward, all of this city, and Samuel of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Carrie Bowser and Miss Ruth of this city, and Mrs. E. R. Fox of Palmyra, N.Y., and Mrs. E.R. Datty of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Bowser of Fourth street at 8 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Chas. Bell and Rev. C. Harrison Donaldson. The body will be taken to Hooker, in Butler county, Saturday morning for burial.
