Mrs. Mathilda Akerberg passed away early this morning at the St Mary's hospital at Duluth, where she has been for several months. Mrs. Akerberg was born in Sweden, June 17, 1849, and was sixty-three years, four months and eighteen days when she died. She came from Sweden in 1881 and has lived in Minnesota ever since, having made her home in St. Hilaire from 1882 to 1902, when she moved to Bemidji. She leaves three children to mourn her death. Gustave Akerberg, who is in the state of Washington, Mrs. Allen Soterberg, who is still in Sweden and Garfield Akerberg of Bemidji. Garfield Akerberg will go to Duluth tonight and will bring the body back to Bemidji for burial. No arrangements have as yet been made for the funeral. (Bemidji Daily Pioneer, Nov 5, 1912)
