The London Free Press, 12 Jan 2017:
MARTIN, Velina - Of Parkhill in her 85th year was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, January 9, 2017. Beloved wife of Amos (2002) for 47 years. Dear mother of Gerald and Sharon Martin of Hawkesville, Ray and Judi Martin of Millgrove, Terry and Brenda Martin of Niverville, MB, Jane and Dave Flook of Stouffville, Judy and Earl Hochachka of Parkhill, also survived by 16 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Velina was the 4th child in a family of 7 where she grew in her faith in a close knit family with parents Amos and Louisa and siblings Henry, Clarence, Mary, Verna, Nelson and Emerson. Velina was a mentor and encourager in her community and with her church family. A visitation will take place at Grace Bible Chapel on Saturday, January 14th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with a service on Sunday at the North Middlesex Community Centre at 2:00 with Pastor Steve Brown officiating. Interment to follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Donations are appreciated in Velina's name to the Gideon Bible Society, Rising Above, Youth For Christ, or to MSC Canada where family members of Velina are currently serving.
