Harry R. Walters, 62, of Texas and formerly of Rockford , died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, in Midland, Texas. Born April 6, 1937, in Stahl, Mo., the son of Orren and Rose Scobee Walters. Married Luella Werle in Iowa on Nov. 11, 1958. He retired from John Deere Co. Harry enjoyed racing cars and playing cards. He loved life and his children. Survivors include wife, Luella sons, Kenneth (Brenda) Walters of Machesney Park, Tony Walters, Mike Walters and Joe (Chris) Walters, all of Rockford daughters, Julie Walters of Rockford and Debbie (David) Smith of Oregon several grandchildren and great-grandchildren two sisters, Sue Smith and Geraldine Stoughtonberg, both of Iowa nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and daughter, Della.
Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Graveside services at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford .
