Born in Edgerton, Mo., Mr. Chaney had resided in Avenue City for 16 years. The family home had been at 3018 1/2 Locust street for the last two months.
Mr. Chaney was a sheet metal worker and was employed by the Walker Manufacturing co for 17 years. He was a member of Sheet metal Workers Association, No. 564.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Aleutian Islands with the army.
Survivors include his wife, Helen E. Chaney, of the home; a son, Donnie Chaney, St. Joseph; three sisters, Oma Lyons, St. Joseph, Opal Russell, Elmonte, Calif., and Floyd Daniels, Edgerson, Mo., and a brother, Paul Chaney, Clarksdale, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Julius Rechtermann. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery."
