To some it is given a full measure of the world's fair days. To others, while year in the early prime of life, the mysterious summons comes, the silver chord is loosed and the sphere of usefulness is transferred from earth to conditions more complete.

Asa Watkins Reynolds died at San Antonio, Texas. January 11, 1912. Born in Haskell county, March 19, 1878, he preserved the name of his grandfather, Mr. B. W. (Uncle Watt) Reynolds, who at a very early date located in Shackelford County, at the famous Old Stone Ranch. Watt's father, Mr. Glenn Reynolds, one of the well known Reynolds Brothers, whose history is so closely identified with the history of Shackelford county, sacrificed his life in the task of gaining for the white man and making livable the good lands of Western Texas.

Until early manhood Watt was reared in Albany, receiving training in the Albany schools and making for himself many friends among the citizens of the community, both young and old. Later he moved to Pecos, Texas, where he made his home until the time of his death. In April, 1903 he married Miss Ethel Hurd of Pecos, who with one son, Glen Hurd Reynolds, survives him.

Watt Reynolds was a young man full of promise. Together with the name of his father, he inherited character and worth. In his boyhood he professed faith in the Christian religion and united with the Presbyterian church. Albany, later transferring his membership to Pecos. This faith gave him patience in aflfiction, and together with the unfailing devotion of a mother's love lightened the gloom that enveloped his latter days.

For this true mother and for all whose hearts are sad from a separation thus untimely are the comforting words, "Not dead, but sleepeth."

The body was brought to Albany by Mrs. Reynolds for interment, and the funeral services held at 10 o'clock Monday morning from Matthews memorial Church, Dr. L. B. Gray officiating.
