AGE 95 YEARS

Bedford, MA – Barbara Dewey, formerly of Wayland, Massachusetts, passed away December 22, 2016 in Bedford, Massachusetts surrounded by her family after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late William Richardson and Katharine (Pratt) Dewey, Jr. of Weston, Massachusetts.

She attended the Holmquist School and graduated Colby Sawyer Junior College and Boston University.

She worked for over 50 years at Massachusetts General Hospital, supporting Dr. Jerry Gross as an administrative assistant and grant writer.

Weekends were filled with long walks or cross country skiing with friends and tending her gardens in Wayland. She also spent many happy hours drawing and painting the New England landscape.

Barbara is survived by her ten nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Katharine Palfrey and brothers William R. Dewey, III and Edward Dewey.
A memorial will be held in celebration of her life at Story Chapel, Mount Auburn Cemetery Watertown, Massachusetts on Saturday January 28 at 11 am.
