Bobby retired from Marathon in 1985, after working there for 37-1/2 years. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in WWII. He was also a member of Billett United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Mary; two brothers, John Richard Dining and Jerry Dining; one sister, Evelyn Clark; and two great-great-granddaughters.
Survivors include his son, Donald P. Dining and wife, Gina, of Bridgeport, Illinois; daughter, Linda K. Whittaker and husband, David, of St. Francisville, Illinois; sister, Doris Archibald and husband, Jack, of Lawrenceville, Illinois; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
