Lorena is preceded in death by her parents; her husband and two sons, Barry and Barton Brake; her six brothers, Ed, Robert, Raymond, Fred, Jim, and Ed; her three sisters, Pearl, Delia and Pauline; a grandson, Ryan King; great-grandson, Stanley Tucker Jr.; and son-in-law, Willis Hayden Reynolds.
Lorena was the epitome of the word "Mother", raising her ten children on a mountain side in Monticello, KY before moving her family to Indiana. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her, and she did it loving every minute of it. Even in her final days on this earth, she wanted her children close to her. She always had a kiss and hug for them and there was never a time that she didn't tell them she loved them as well as the people she took under her motherly wing. Lorena's home was always so full of love. Lorena loved her flowers and being outdoors and making sure everyone who entered her home not feeling hungry. Lorena loved traveling, you only had to mention you were going to Kentucky and she beat you to the car for a ride HOME.
Left to cherish her sweet memory are her eight children. She had many grandchildren. There are 54 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Lorena's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
