Christina “Chrissy” Theos Adams, 49, of Seneca, SC, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on Tuesday, December 27th after a strong, hard-fought battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Chrissy’s earliest years were spent in her hometown of Charleston, SC where she graduated from Bishop England High School in 1985. Chrissy graduated from Clemson University in 1989 with a BS in Management. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. After college, she attended the University of South Carolina School of Law where she graduated in 1994. Following graduation, she began her career in public service as an assistant prosecutor in Charleston. After moving to Seneca, SC in 1997, she prosecuted for the 13th Judicial Circuit until being recruited as Deputy Solicitor for Oconee County in 1999. She was elected Solicitor of the Tenth Judicial Circuit in November 2004 and took office on January 12, 2005. She was the immediate past president of the South Carolina Solicitors’ Association. Her determination and dedication was an inspiration to all who supported and worked with Chrissy during her successful 3-term tenure.
Chrissy served on the Anderson County Alternative School Board, the Carolina First/TD Bank Advisory Board, the Tri-County Technical College Advisory Board, and the Tri-County Technical College Criminal Justice Advisory Board. She was a member of the SC Trial Lawyers Association, the National District Attorneys Association, the SC Bar, the Oconee County Bar, the Anderson County Bar, and the Seneca Golden Corner Rotary Club. She was a staunch supporter of Collins Children’s Home, Foothills Alliance, Safe Harbor and the American Red Cross. As the 10th Circuit Solicitor she introduced the Courthouse Facility Dog program to South Carolina to assist victims of crime.
Chrissy is dearly missed and forever loved by her family which includes her devoted husband, Eddie and two cherished sons, Gregory and James; mother, Helen Theos; brother, Nick Theos (Linda); and nieces, Helaina and Caroline. She was predeceased by her father, Gregory Theos. Chrissy was also embraced by a loving group of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Chrissy lived her life to its fullest. Her love of family and community guided her and touched so many. There was no greater loves in Chrissy’s life than her two sons whom she adored. She had a legendary and witty sense of humor that kept everyone laughing while she always put others first. Chrissy’s amazing sense of style, warmth and hospitality was felt as she welcomed so many to her beautiful home.
Chrissy grew up as a beloved member of the Greek community in Charleston. Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 30th, 2016, at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 406 N. Academy Street, Greenville, SC from 8:00-10:30AM. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, at the church. The graveside service will be held Saturday, December 31st at 1:00 PM at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414.
