Ms. Katherine Leoma Searcy, age 95 of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at the Gilmer Nursing Home.
Ms. Searcy was born January 26, 1921 in Cherrylog, Georgia to her late parents Edgar and Mamie Griffin Searcy. She was a member of Cherrylog Baptist Church and graduated from Ellijay High School, Class of 1938. Katherine worked as a live in nanny. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Steven Quarles, sister Jean Searcy Towe, and brothers Jack and Jerry Searcy.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Joan Morgan of Ellijay, GA; Grandsons and in-law, Barry and Angie Quarles and Patrick Quarles, all of Ellijay, GA; Great grandchildren Luke Quarles of Ellijay, GA , sisters, Ruth Searcy Helton of Ellijay, GA and Ruby Searcy McCarkle of Athens, GA.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Logan Funeral Home Chapel located at 357 Dalton Street Ellijay, Georgia 30540 with the Rev. Jackie Ellington officiating. Interment will be in Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellijay, GA.
