Glenn Allen, Sr., age 86, of Barnhart, formerly of Wayne County, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Crystal Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center in Crystal City, MO.

He was born February 8, 1930 near Clubb, MO, the son of Raney and Sallie (Yancey) Allen.

Glenn served in the US Army in Korea from 1951 to 1953. He was a retired roofer for the Young Roofing Company in St. Louis and was a long time member of the St. Louis Roofing Union Local # 2. He attended the Barnhart General Baptist Church.

He was married to Jacqueline Pigg January 23,1954 in St. Louis and she passed away March 6, 2010. Also preceding him in death are his parents, Raney and Sallie Allen, one son, Jimmy D. Young, one daughter, Linda Sue Steffen, and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three sons, Glenn Allen, Jr., of Imperial, MO, Danny Allen and his wife Louisa, of Barnhart, MO, Alan Allen and his wife Patricia, of House Springs, MO, one brother, Jerry Allen, of Clubb, MO, and one sister, Shirley Smith, of Hillsboro, MO.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Morrison-Worley Chapel in Greenville with Rev. Elijah Bennett officiating. Alan Allen gave the euolgy and special recorded songs were played for the service.

Glenn Allen, Jr., Danny Allen, Alan Allen, Luke Allen, Randy Allen and J.R. Allen served as Pall Bearers.

Military Honors were given at graveside by the US Army and the Mehlville VFW Post #2184 Honor Guard.

Interment was in the New Prospect Cemetery under the direction of Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel.
