Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Hines Ellis, age 95 of Ruston, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the Burkhalter Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston with the Rev. Fred Wideman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Mrs. Ellis was born January 27, 1911 in Ruston to Walter Clayton Hines and Nannie Ponder Hines. She died Sunday, January 14, 2007 in Ruston. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She earned a bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech in 1932. Mrs. Ellis later worked at Louisiana Tech as a dietician and then as a consultant dietician for numerous facilities.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her daughter Sandra Ellis Hogg of Ruston and her son Marvin Robert Ellis, Jr. and his wife Linda of Ruston; Her six grandchildren Alexis DeFreese, Tony Hogg and wife Becky, Stephen Hogg, David Hogg and wife Sheila, John Hogg and Craig Ellis and wife Kerry; her ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Louise Hines of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Robert Ellis, Sr., her parents, and her three brothers.
