YARMOUTH - Laura (Smith) Dalrymple, 89, widow of Frederick Dalrymple, passed away December 12, 2016, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
She was born in Houlton on October 24, 1927, a daughter of Herbert L. and Pauline (Fortier) Smith.
Her first husband, Lawrence L. Lunt, died in 1991.
Laura attended schools in Oakfield before moving to Freeport in 1944 and was a graduate of Freeport High School with the class of 1947.
Laura resided in Freeport upon graduation and moved to Yarmouth within the last two years.
She worked for Union Mutual Life Insurance Company (now Unum) and for many years in the insurance offices of Burwell and Burwell.
She enjoyed knitting, reading, her family and friends and most especially her three grand Children.
Laura is survived by her son, Lawrence L. Lunt II and his wife Cynthia, her daughter Laureen Lunt-Collard; three grandchildren, Chester and Cyril Lunt, and Laura Collard, all of Freeport; two aunts, Alice Libby of Florida and Vivian Fortier of Virginia.
In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her husband; her brothers, Herbert C. Smith and Larry L. Smith, and her sisters, Rosa Burnell, Verjeen Bathras, Elizabeth Tridle and Anna Rogers.
Honoring her wishes, Laura will be having a graveside service in the spring of 2017 at Burr Cemetery in Freeport.
