Granger, OP Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Marie Granger died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on December 16, 2016. She was born Ruth Alice Granger in 1929 in Marion, OH and in 1950 entered the congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She earned degrees from the College of St. Mary of the Springs, now Ohio Dominican University, Notre Dame University and Providence College as well as an Administrator's Certification from Pace University in New York. She taught in grade schools in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Wintersville, OH and Marietta, OH. In the Columbus diocese she taught at Sacred Heart, Coshocton, and St. Gabriel's, Columbus. She was an Associate Professor of Education and Department Chair at Ohio Dominican College, now University. She was the first Director of the Dominican Learning Center in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents Alonzo Granger and Gertrude Conway Granger, her brothers Carl, Ed, Paul, and John and her sisters Shirley Granger and Marie Zimmer. She is survived by her brother, Richard; her sister, Jane Edgington; and many nieces and nephews. Her body will be received at the Columbus Motherhouse on Wednesday, December 21 at 3 p.m. A Vigil of Remembrance Service will be held at 4:45 p.m. with the wake continuing until 7 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Columbus Motherhouse at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 22 followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery by Egan Ryan Funeral Home.
