Helen M. Arni, 85, Independence, MO passed away December 14, 2016. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests contributions to the American Heart Association Greater K.C. Chapter, 6800 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, KS 66212. Helen was born July 14, 1931 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from William Chrisman High School. She was a Baptist. She enjoyed collecting all sorts of frogs and Kewpie dolls over the years. She was also an artist who loved to draw. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years William Arni, daughters Cathy and Amy Arni, son Tony Arni and brother Buddy Scherer. She is survived by daughters Ann Arni, Independence, MO; Carol Ranck, Blue Springs, MO; son Jerry Norris and wife Terry, Independence, MO; five grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
