Afton Sudweeks Beazer passed away December 10, 2016 at Sage Grove Assisted Living Center. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

Afton was born June 5, 1929 in Kimberly, Idaho to Don and Elvira Angelina Batty Sudweeks. She was the youngest of their eight children. She was raised in Kimberly, where she attended and graduated from Kimberly High school, she continued her education at Albion Normal School. She then attended Ricks College where she met Arland Richard (Dick) Beazer who was working in the cafeteria. She finished school and taught at the elementary school in Shelley while Dick served his mission. They were married shortly after he returned, on April 4, 1951 in the Idaho Falls Temple. The first few years they lived in several places before settling in Lincoln where they built a home and she became a homemaker and mother to Cindy, Jeff, Syd, Mark and Denice. She also helped take care of the Lincoln Cemetery.

After her in-laws died they moved to the Beazer family home in Lorenzo. Here she added train engineer's wife to her list of many roles. Dick passed away in 2003.

Afton loved to do embroidery, read, do jigsaw puzzles, garden and be with her grandchildren. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, faithfully serving in many callings. She was known as a strong, quiet, hardworking mom, who loved and sacrificed for her family. She was also known for her kind, gentle spirit and dill pickles.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Cindy Lee (Richard) Walker, Springville, Utah; Jeff Irving Beazer, Idaho Falls;, Arland Syd (Ruth Ann) Beazer, Rigby; Mark Richard (Becky) Beazer, Orem, Utah; Denice (Paul) Young, Idaho Falls; 11 Grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters; Verna Denton, Elva Dale, Ila Allen, Lorraine Burnham, and brothers; Harold, Raymond and Clinton Sudweeks.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the LDS Church located at 364 N. 4100 E. Rigby,ID. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
