Edward O. Bagley Sr., aged 74, of 1400 Spring Street, former circulation manager of the Arkansas Gazette, died Thursday morning in a Little Rock hospital.

Mr. Bagley was born at DeWitt December 26, 1874, the son of Rev. and Mrs. Paul Bagley. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a charter member of the Little Rock Kiwanis Club.

He spent 35 years in his position at the Gazette, before retiring a number of years ago. He had been in ill health for many years.

Mr. Bagley served as secretary and treasurer of the Beach Abstract and Guaranty Company, president of the State Building and Loan Association, secretary of the Arkansas League of Building and Loan Groups, and as a commissioner of the Little Rock-Hot Springs Highway.

He also served as a member of the 41st General Assembly.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Bales Bagley; two sons, Frederick Bagley of San Antonio, Tex., and Charles Bagley of Little Rock; two daughters, Miss Helen Bagley of Little Rock and Mrs. Emma Sue Smith of Hannibal, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Pearl White of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Henry S. Bagley of Osbourn, O., and four grandchildren.

Funeral will be held by Rev. Eulis H. Hill at First Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Pallbearers will be Hal Fowler, Ed Grady, E. B. Adams, Burton Dougan, J. B. Milburn and Don Cameron. Members of the Men’s Bible Class of First Christian Church will act as honorary pallbearers. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park under direction of Healey & Roth.
