Dead of Heart Attack

MEDARYVILLE, Aug. 5. -- (Special) -- Edward Eckert, 43, Cass township farmer, dropped dead at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon at San Pierre, following a heart attack. Funeral services will be held Sunday at San Pierre, with Rev. Schrieber officiating; interment in San Pierre cemetery.
Mr. Eckert was born Feb. 17, 1890, in Cass township, where he spent all his life, and was a son of Fred and Anna Eckert. On May 6, 1920, he was married to Gertrude Zengler. For seven years, from 1922 to 1929, he was trustee of Cass township. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are the widow; a son, Richard; four brothers, August, John and William Eckert, of San Pierre, and Emil Eckert of North Judson; with two sisters, Mrs. Marie Warmbier, Chicago, and Mrs. Anna Timm, San Pierre.
