TEFFT -- William Henry Eckert, 85, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer, after a brief illness. He was born on Oct. 6, 1878, in Starke County and came here 11 years ago from San Pierre. He married Christena Scholz on June 18, 1903, in San Pierre. She preceded him in death. A son, Theodore of San Pierre; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Batzka of LaCrosse, Ind.; and a brother, August, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Timm, both of San Pierre, survive. The body is at the Todd Funeral Home, DeMotte.
