Rhonda Adkins Nelson, a devoted loving, wife, and mother who cared about her family and friends was born June 15, 1962 to the parents of Ronald and Judith Stamper Adkins Rife. She passed away December 4, 2016 at her home. She was employed for 20 years at Tazewell County Juvenile Domestic Relations Court in Tazewell, Virginia as a Deputy Clerk. In her spare time, she enjoyed working outdoors, riding motorcycles, cooking, watching television, and she loved animals.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Adkins; stepfather, Admiral Dewey Rife; her mother, Judith Stamper Adkins Rife; one daughter, Andrea Nelson; one stepbrother, A.D. Rife.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Nelson; one son, Andrew Nelson; one brother, Ronald Adkins, Jr.; one sister, Michelle Rife Facchina; two stepbrothers, Greg Rife and Terry Rife.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Veronica McGlothlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Nelson Family Cemetery in the Bear Wallow section of Jewell Ridge, Virginia.
