Herbert Horton, 87, a long-time resident of Wenatchee, WA, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2016, at Central Washington Hospital. Herb was born in Bothell, WA, on February 16, 1929, to Oscar and Mary Horton. He was the youngest of four children.

Herb spent his life in Washington, California, Oregon, and Mexico, where he worked in Real Estate. He Moved to Wenatchee in 1978, where he helped raise children on the Horse Lake Road Ranch, where he lived for almost 30 years.

Herb was an avid tennis player where many knew him from the Wenatchee Tennis Club, known today as the Wenatchee Racquet & Athletic Club. Herb taught his kids the love of music, outdoors, education, and what it took to be part of a family. He will truly be missed.

Herb was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Mary Prchal Horton.

He is survived by children: Gail and Steve Sims of North Port, CA, Pam and Larry Stout of La Verne, CA, Rhonda and Vince Hein and Trish and Bill Fry of Chelan, WA, Jeffrey Greenwalt, and Laura and Ryan Anderson of Quincy, WA; along with 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

At the request of the family there will be no services.

Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy, is assisting the family with arrangements.
