Nancy graduated with the Locust Grove High School class of 1969. She went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Nancy loved her job & was a blessing to many people that she came into contact with over the years. In 2006, she retired from the Cherokee Nation where she worked in Indian Child Welfare.
Nancy had been a part of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Locust Grove. She had a passion for the Word of the Lord, & enjoyed her teaching under Sister Mildred Hutchinson. Nancy was a true Christian that enjoyed sharing the gospel, encouraging others, & always had a smile & hug for everyone. She loved to cook, as well as snack on & eat candy, especially candy corn. Nancy spoiled & loved her dogs. She loved her family dearly & enjoyed any time that she was able to spend with them. Nancy will be missed by all that knew & loved her.
Nancy is survived by: 4 children: Jeremy Baker & wife Gina of Locust Grove, OK, Kimberly Baker & Aaron Aldridge of Tahlequah, OK, Jess Baker of Locust Grove, OK, & Skylar Foreman of Locust Grove, OK; 3 grandchildren: Megan Baker, Ty Baker & Nevaeh Barnett; 2 brothers: Millard Buckskin & wife Melissa of Windsor, CO & Thurman Buckskin of Locust Grove, OK; Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; 2 Brothers: Sonny & Bozo; & 2 sisters: Millie & Tammy Kay.
