Dale was born in Mobile, Alabama but spent his first 2 years in Biloxi, Mississippi before the family moved back to the family farm at Styx River, Alabama.
He was predeceased by his parents, Burton J. Dunbar and Alva 'Peggy' (nee Hitchcock) Dunbar Wallace and his brother Burton Vincent Dunbar. He worked selling insurance and cars for most of his working years and loved talking with people and trying to please them. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed making a good pot of jambalaya outside on his gas cooker. Playing the guitar and singing country songs and hymns, fishing and gardening were some of his favorite hobbies.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Patricia (nee McKinnon) Dunbar, son Derek A. Dunbar (Diane) and daughter Cheryl K. Dunbar (Robert), sister, Shirley Jennings (Jim), brother Glenn Dunbar (Debbie), step-sister Rosie Jane (Wallace) Bishop all of Styx River, AL, grandchildren Ashley Dunbar, Reland Stephens, Kelli Dunbar and Rheanna Stephens and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Styx River Baptist Church at 5:00pm on Saturday, December 3, 2016. After the service refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited.
