August Dombrowski (1850-1933) was born in Borek, Kreis Karthaus, Westpreusen (now Borek, Gdansk, Poland) the son of Romuald Augustum Dabrowski & Antonina Klopotek. He came to America on the sailing ship Oder and settled in Town of Plover, Portage County, WI in 1881. August married his 1st wife Pauline (Ciesielski?) prior to March of 1881, she passed 1882. He then married Barbara Kropidowski February 26, 1883, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plover and had a son, Alex (1884-1936), and a daughter, Agniesczka (Agnes) (1888-1921) After Barbara passed, August married again to Xaveria Kulklinski on October 17, 1894 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plover. From this union is Rose (1895-1977), Steve (1896-1947), Frank (1898-1963), Alvin (1900-1948), Mary (1901-1988), Julianna (1903-1982), Martha (1905-1980) and August jr. (1906-1994).

The earliest record I have for August Dombrowski is the manifest for the ship Oder that states he was 30 in April of 1881 or DOB 1851. However his birthday was not until August where he would be 31 in August 1981so in April 1981 he was 30 and DOB in 1850.
2nd is the U.S., Indexed County Land Ownership Maps, 1860-1918 Record for August Dombrowski dated 1895 that did not list his age.
3nd is the US Census of 1900 that listed his DOB as Aug 1847 and his age at 53.
4rd is the Wisconsin Census of 1905 that listed his DOB at about 1855.
5th is the US Naturalization Papers that list his DOB as 27 Aug 1850.
6th & 7th is the US Census of 1910/1920 that listed his DOB at about 1850.
8th is the US Census of 1930 that listed his DOB at about 1852.

There were changes made to the 1900 US Censes DOB with the dates written over so I am assuming the US Naturalization Papers were a more accurate account of his DOB = 27 Aug 1850.
