GREENBERRY GRIFFIN DIES
Greenberry Griffin was born in Macon County, Missouri, Oct. 22, 1859, and departed this life Mar. 2, 1935.
Mr. Griffin spent his entire life in Macon and Shelby Counties.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Snow on Nov. 22, 1881. To this union were born nine children, six girls and three boys, all nine survive to mourn their father's departure. They are as follows, Mary Murphy of Kansas City, Missouri, Minnie Maupin of Clarence, Zula Meidinger of St. Joseph, Emma Gosney of Kansas City, Missouri, Anna Bennett of Omaha, Nebraska, Letha Gingrich of Clarence, George Griffin of Clarence, Birch Griffin of Omaha, Nebraska, and Lee Griffin of the home. There are also eleven grandchildren living and one dead. He leaves four great-grandchildren; one uncle; and a host of relatives and friends. His wife preceded him in death on July 1, 1922.
He was a loving father and will be greatly missed by his children and all who knew him.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Clarence on Tuesday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest by the side of her companion in Maplewood Cemetery.

G. GRIFFIN OF NORTH OF CLARENCE, DIES
Greenberry Griffin, 75, a farmer living north of Clarence, died Saturday evening. He suffered a heart attack while seated at the table for the evening meal, and died suddenly. He had suffered from heart disease for some time.
Born in Macon County, near La Plata, on Oct. 22, 1859, Mr. Griffin came to Shelby County when a young boy and spent the most of his life farming near Clarence.
His wife, the former Nan Snow, died twelve years ago.
He is survived by three sons, George Griffin of near Clarence, Lee Griffin, living at home, and Bert Griffin of Omaha, Nebraska; six daughters, Mrs. Mary Murphy, Mrs. Emma Gosney, Mrs. Minnie Maupin and Mrs. Letha Gingrich of near Clarence, Mrs. Zula Meidinger of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Mrs. Anna Bennett of Omaha, Nebraska.
Funeral rites were held yesterday afternoon at the Clarence Baptist Church.
