She was born on October 15, 1953 in Tampa, FL. She graduated from Choctawhatchee HS and received her MBA from the University of West Florida. Debbie retired in May after 34 years of service from ECUA were she was the Chief Financial Officer.
Receiving the Legacy Award from March of Dimes, this year was one of her many accomplishments, Fundraiser Chair, committee member and volunteer for ACS Making Strides and Relay for Life are just a few more of the charities she supported. She enjoyed being outside but her gardening skills were limited to the wine bottle tree in her front yard (that was the envy of the neighborhood), always ready to host a get-together with friends, neighbors and her Bunco group, this was how she survived the 7 year battle. Her generosity to her church and their local missions were another passion purchasing hundreds of backpacks and school supplies along with bikes and helmets for the Secret Santa Tree. Debbie was truly an angel on earth and will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Buckley of 30 years; all her grandparents; sister-in-law, Joyce Patterson; nephews, Jess Patterson and CJ Holley.
Debbie is survived by her parents, Frederick H. and Fay J. Patterson of Pensacola; siblings, Betsy Tucker (Mike) of Tallahassee, FL, Frederick H. Jr. Patterson (Kathy) of Jacksonville, FL, Brad Patterson of Green River, WY, Susan McCall of Pensacola, FL, Jay Patterson of Wellsboro, PA and Tracy Holley (Steve) of Fountain, FL; as well as many nieces & nephews along with the “adopted” children of many of her close friends.
