A graveside service for Bobby Ray Boyd 83, of Tyler is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2016, at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery. David Boyd will officiate under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.

Bobby was born March 31, 1933 in Houston, Texas passing away on November 19, 2016. He was a loving husband and father who raised his family in Tyler. Bobby is preceded in death by his wife Ann Boyd, his father Dillard Boyd, mother Pearle Eason; sons, Stephen Boyd and Matthew Boyd; and half brother Joe Boyd.

Bobby is survived by daughters, Florita Boyd of Fairview, TX., Deborah Harris and husband Mike of Whitehouse, Theresa Walden and husband Phil of Georgetown, Patricia Boyd of Ft Worth, daughter in law Suzanne Boyd of Tyler; brother Billy Boyd and wife Joyce; special cousin Carl (Tooter) Netherland and wife Barbara; half sisters Dianne Crawford and Norma Boyd grandchildren, Stuart Walden, Shawn Murray, Brett Harris, Scott Boyd, Bobby John Boyd, Sheriann Boyd Pert, Kimberly Harris, Sara Boyd and Roxanne Boyd Varnell; five great grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.

Bobby was raised in Edom, Tyler and Venezuela. He attended Tyler High, graduating in 1950. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Ann, for 62 years, until her passing. Together they raised 6 children and a menagerie of pets. Forever an outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and anything involving the beach. Bobby worked as a maintenance supervisor at La Gloria oil refinery for 35 years until his retirement in 1988. Post retirement, He, his wife and his beloved Yorkie "Sampson", traveled the country in their RV and competed in C.A.S.I. chili cook-offs. Bobby held the title of Texas State Champion in 1990. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Visitation is from 4:40 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, 215 East Front Street, Tyler.
