COMMISKEY - Oct. 29, 1898

Death entered our community last Monday and took from us a loving mother and kind neighbor, Mrs. Nellie Granger. Her death was quite a shock as she was not sick more than a week. She was taken with typhoid fever of the worst form and all that three physicians and good nursing could do did not relieve her. Deceased was a daughter of T. J. Wright, formerly of this place. She was married to Ephriam Granger and six children have blessed their home. It is sad to see one thus taken in the prime of life, especially as she was apparently always active and vigorous, and ever ready to lend a helping hand to the distressed and sick of the neighborhood. She was a member of the Baptist church here and we believe she was a true christian woman. Hers was a sunny nature whom all loved and she will be sadly missed in our community. The bereaved husband and children, four of whom are very young, have our heartfelt sympathy in their sad loss. Her death occurred on Monday October 24, 1898, and the funeral services and burial were conducted at Coffee Creek Christian church, by Rev. Will Wykoff, minister of Paris M. E. circuit.
