Mary Watson Cunningham, age 91, passed away at her home in MadisonGA on Friday, November 18, 2016. She was born January 20, 1925 and grew up in Hawkinsville, Georgia. She attended Georgia College for Women, now Known as Georgia College and State University, which was then a college for those entering the teaching profession. After graduation she taught in Thompson and Atlanta, GA. On June 20, 1951, She married Joe R. Cunningham, a Madison Native, WW11 Veteran , and a Meat Department Manager at a Local grocery store. They opend the Grill, a short order restaurant in Downtown Madison that later became Ye Olde Colonial Restaurant. Mary and Joe had 5 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe and, and her daughter Grace.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 20, at 2:00pm, at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. followed by the Funeral at 3:00 P.M.
