Rocky Branch Man Suicides; Neighbors Find A Note Which Gives Directions For Burial

A 41-year old native of the Kentuck Community took his own life at his Rocky Branch home last Thursday and ill health was ascribed as the reason.
He was Denver A. Parsons who was found at his home slumped over in a chair with a 12 gauge shotgun at this feet. He had been shot in the head.
A note was found by his body which gave directions concerning his burial, according to neighbors who were first to arrive at the home.
Parsons' wife was a patient at the time in the St. Francis hospital in Charleston where she is recouperating from serious burns received the previous Sunday when a gas heater exploded in the home.
Other survivors include his father, Walter Parsons of Charleston.
Funeral services were held Sunday with Rev. Allen Skeen officiating and the burial was in the Hatcher family cemetery near Kentuck.
Members of Mr. Parsons' family were shocked when they learned that he had taken his own life. They said that he had worried about the condition of his wife since she had been burned badly in the explosion but that they had never thought that he would end his life.
