FUNERAL SERVICES WERE TUESDAY FOR MRS. ED HARMAN
Mrs. Cordelia Dowell Harman, 84, who had lived on a farm 20 miles northwest of Norton since 1913, died in the Norton County Hospital Sunday, January 22, 1961.
Mrs. Harman had been in ill health since October of 1960, and had been in the hospital since January 19.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harman were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Scott-Brantley Funeral Home in Norton, Kansas. Reverent Rex Harman officiated at the last rites. Interment was made in the Mount Hope Cemetery west of Beaver City, Neb.
Mrs. Harman was born April 8, 1876 in Curryville, Missouri, daughter of Elias Dowell and Virginia Phillips Dowell. She was married June 8, 909, to Edward Ridge Harman at Lincoln, Neb. After their wedding, the couple lived on a farm at Holinger, Neb., then at Beaver City, Neb., before moving to the farm 20 miles northwest of Norton, Kansas in the Spring of 1913.
Her husband died October 16, 1958. She is survived by one son, Mex E. Harman of Norton, Kansas and two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Pywell of Nampa, Idaho and Mrs. Lewis Wyatt of Nevada, Missouri. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister. The sister is Miss Lila Dowell of Portland, Oregon.
