Max Hyrum Huggard Obituary

A valiant spirit, Max Hyrum Huggard, 69, returned to his Heavenly Father March 7, 1997 in Provo, Utah after a long illness. Dad was born December 17, 1927 in American Fork to Franklin and Ethel Ashton Huggard. He married his "little Rae of Sunshine," Rae D. Evans September 16, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Dad attended schools in American Fork. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-52. He was employed at Deseret Chemical and Tooele Army Depot until his retirement in 1974. He sang with the Skyline Barbershop Chorus for 13 years.

Dad served faithfully in the LDS Church as a High Priest, Temple Worker, Executive Secretary and home teacher.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rae, of Orem; children: Linda and Loren Mortensen, Kearns; Gary and Carma Huggard, Colorado Springs; Mary and Keith Robbins, Orem; 13 grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers; Blanche Ovard, Mable Binns, Frank Huggard, G. James (Jim) Huggard. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a brother, Aleta, Effie, Mary, and Earl.

Funeral Services were held last Wednesday in the American Fork 1st Ward. Interment, American Fork Cemetery. Military Rites by VFW, District 4. Directed by Anderson & Sons Mortuary.
