Bert Louis Cain was the son of
Squire William Cain and Amy Elizabeth Briles.

He married Ethel Gertrude Wright, daughter
of Albert Wright and Minnie Amanda Hartley,
on May 1, 1920, in Hood River County, Oregon; they were married until his death.
The couple had three daughters, namely:

Wanda Adell (Cain) [Buckwald] Baker
(1920-1980),
Marjorie Vinona (Cain) [Wineland] [Minter] Dorwin (1922-1997), and
Bonnie Jean (Cain) [Look] Baker (1926-1999).

All three daughters died in California.

Bert died at Providence Hospital in Wallace, Shoshone County, Idaho, from postoperative complications due to surgery for a chronic condition. The informant on his death certificate was his wife, Ethel Cain [listed erroneously as Caine]. His parents were listed as Squire Cain and Amy Boyles [sic-Briles]. Bert and Ethel had made their home in Kellog, Shoshone County, where he worked as a miner for the Bunker Hill Mining Company.

Bert's death certificate stated that he was buried on October 19, 1927, in Kellogg, Idaho. The only cemetery in Kellogg is Greenwood. The funeral records of the undertaker, R. L. Stout, are now held by Shoshone Funeral Services in Kellogg; the Stout funeral record for Bert shows that he was buried at Greenwood Cemetery. While the cemetery does not have a record of Bert's burial [likely because there is no headstone and their record-keeping was not perfect in 1927],
they agree that he is buried there based on
the death certificate and the funeral record.
