Neva Grace Havely, 92, went to her eternal rest Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009. Neva Grace was born Dec. 20, 1916, in Thayer, Kan., to Aleck and Anna Basler. She was the eighth of 13 children and was raised in Erie, Kan.
She married Willard F. Havely in Shaw, Kan., on Sept. 12, 1937. They moved to Farmington in 1958, where she worked at Dunlaps and Montgomery Ward. In 1966, they moved to their ranch in Blanco.
She was a faithful member of the Bloomfield First Baptist Church. She had been a member of the Grand Chapter of the Kansas Order of the Eastern Star since 1949.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; five brothers and their wives, five sisters and their husbands, and one son-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter, LaVera J. Wilks of Blanco; her son, Bernard C. Havely and wife, Rita, f Dallas, Texas; her daughter, Margaret K. Beasley and husband, Sylvester, of Farmington; and her son, Willard R. Havely and wife, Terry, of Blanco. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Loren Basler and wife, Dorthea, of Bartlesville, Okla.; sisters-in-law, Rachael Banks and husband, Fred, of Burbank, Calif., Dorothy Cole and husband, Frank. of Beverly, Kan., Marjorie Percival of Coffeeville, Kan., and Wilha Finley of Wichita, Kan.; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 3 to 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St., in Farmington.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, in the sanctuary of the Bloomfield First Baptist Church, with Brother Craig Montroy officiating.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the St. Rose Cemetery in Blanco.
Pallbearers are Bryan Wilks, Joshua Wilks, Michael Havely, Devin Meeks, Gerald Hicks and Tyler Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers are Orlan Meeks, Wesley Meeks, Clinton Weishan, Justin Hicks, Russell Jones, Bradley Havely and Nathan Selders.
Donations may be made in Neva Grace's name to the Bloomfield First Baptist Church or the Blanco Volunteer Fire Department.
