William Spratt, son of William Spratt, who came into this town in 1824, from China, Kennebec county, Maine, and settled near the centre of the town of Corinth, married Sarah Edgerly, of Brentwood, New Hampshire.

They had seven children, viz : John, Jane, William, Sarah, Mary H., Dudley D., and George W. He died on the farm on which he first settled, in 1836. Mrs. Spratt died in Patten, in 1838.
