Al Devine, age 75, passed away on Sunday September 18, 2005 at his home in Princeton.

He was born on September 12, 1930 in Loogootee, IN to Alphonso & Myrtle (Jennings) Devine.

He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the VFW Post#1147, American Legion, and the Conservation Club.

He worked for Princeton Telephone Company and then Contel for 42 years and never missed a day. He received several awards for his dedicated service. He loved the out-doors. He loved to mushroom hunt, deer hunt, fish, garden or anything to do outside. He loved to spend his time at his river cabin and to pitch horseshoes. He was a very gentle man and his family always came first.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Loretta Devine of Princeton; son & daughter-in-law, Robert (Bob) & Kathy Devine of Princeton; daughter, Sandi Devine of Princeton; grandson & his wife, Joshua & Jeanna Devine of Princeton; brother, Paul Devine of Vincennes; sister, Gloria Goodwin of California; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Robert & John Devine.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday September 23, 2005 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Edmond Harris officiating. Burial will be at the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 9 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
