Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater with the Reverend Malcolm Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cate - Spencer and Trent Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
The family will receive friends and visitors for a time of visitation from 6:30 p.m., to 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the funeral home, 403 Locust Street, Sweetwater, Texas.
Winnie was born on February 10, 1914 in Foreston, Texas. She was married to Clarence O. Scobey on November 1, 1941 in Nolan, Texas.
Winnie was a member of the First Baptist Church, she worked in the nursery there for over 30 years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Elizabeth Ann McIntire of Denton, Texas; one son, Clarence David Scobey of Sweetwater, Texas; and two grandchildren, Ann - Marie McIntire and John McIntire; and a special friend, Charlene Baxter of Sweetwater, Texas.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Clarence O. Scobey on January 13, 1972; five sisters, Annie Hanks, Elizabeth Oliver, Ethel Ussery, Verdie Ensminger, and Eulalia Lindly; and ten brothers, Henry, Ed, John, Charlie, Alphonso, Ernest, Ham, Roy, Jeff, and Leonard Ware.
Pallbearers will be: Dusty Lovell, Waymon Sowell, Barron Bird, Robert Scott, Larry May and Gene Elston.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Mission Offerings, 213 East Third Street, Sweetwater, Texas 79556.
