Perry - James Owens, 71, of Smith Heights died Monday in a local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will held today at the Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Owens was a life-long resident of Houston County and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Owens of Perry; seven sons [named]; five daughters [named]; and two brothers, John Henry Owens of Ft. Valley and Willie James Sanders of Vienna.
Glover Funeral Home of Perry has charge of arrangements.
